Climate & Ecosystem Restoration

The economy is a wholly owned subsidiary of the environment1. Nature provides the original capital for every human enterprise and all life. The forests, grasslands, rivers, wetlands, mangroves, coral reefs, fisheries, soils, pollinators, stable climate systems, and the living biodiversity all keep everyone on Earth alive. Protecting and restoring that foundation is the precondition for health, prosperity, and life itself.

This category brings together Non-Profits, think tanks, solutions projects, data specialists and more, working across the broadest dimensions of planetary restoration. Many are difficult to put in one box because their work is whole-systems in nature. They protect land, water, habitat, wildlife, and climate at the same time. They may work in reforestation, grassland renewal, freshwater restoration, ocean conservation, mangrove recovery, coral protection, biodiversity stewardship, or sustainable fisheries, but what unites them is the commitment to helping nature, including humans, thrive within living ecosystems.

Many of these efforts are shaped by a leadership style grounded in cooperation, repair, and long-term care. A striking number are led by women, Indigenous leaders, and others bringing cooperation and restorative thinking to the forefront. Our future depends on this mindset of partnership with life.

Those presented here just scratch the surface! There are millions of people working on what matters most every day. This is where the guardians of the living world are celebrated. Get your Bliss Scroll (TM) going!
